About Zen Rizing
Liberation and enlightenment; these are the two ideals for which Zen Rizing exists. It would be sinful, however, to limit one’s perception of these two concepts to a single significance. Zen Rizing advocates the employment and practice of these ambitions in all possible aspects. Freedom of the mind. Human evolution. Improvement of the self……all notions for which Zen Rizing stands.
With the band’s purpose and goals realized and spoken for the songs started coming together. From the very beginning all creative endeavors were a product of all four minds in unison. All decisions made were a result of unanimous accord. Four became one; one became family……a unit.
The band’s live show is an un-equaled assault of theatrics and all-emcompassing melodic concussion.
Cody Duke, bass, stalks his mountain in dark predatory fashion and vibrates the audience with a barrage of mesmerizing low-end reminiscent to the soul of the sea. His charm and appeal capture all.
Steve Preach, guitar, embellishes his altar with a nostalgic presence as if witnessing a legend already passed. His spellbinding array of timeless notes sings the praises of what will, in time, be seemingly mythological.
Buddy Iahn, drums, driven by a never-ending supply of musical coal, is the embodiment of a drummer well-acquainted with the feel of tasteful percussion and showmanship. When Buddy reaches for the sticks no one expects anything less than incredible.
Scott Foster Harris, vocals, commands his stage with the vigor and hypnotic qualities of a ghost. His exotic and purely emotional approach to his reality is revealing and liberating to all who witness. He is the poet, the pedagogue and the persecuted.
Respecting the unit as something greater than the sum of its parts is the foundation upon which the strength of this band is built. All four, keenly aware of the message they strive to deliver, glorify and exalt the songs and the vision above all else bringing uncanny reality of any and every kind to each and every experience. Their self-imposed goals and expectations aspire to define new avenues of which creative families can pursue. The road they’ve chosen to take has yet to be paved. It is the realization for this necessary journey down this untamed road of excess that feeds the appetite of Zen Rizing.
