About Weathered Home
Weathered home… one of Vancouver’s newest Indie bands to hit the scene is an eclectic musical mixture of folk, jazz and rock.
Since 2007, Weathered Home has evolved from humble beginnings to become a musical force on the cutting edge of Western Canada's music scene.
In April of 2007, Vocalist Kyla Rawlyns and Guitarist Andrew Mitton began writing music and performing on Vancouver's renowned Granville Island. The overwhelming response to their growing repertoire was clear. With the addition of Aaron Mitton on bass, Mike Lauder on drums, Neil Brideau on guitar & Mark Kinskofer on Piano, Weathered Home was formed.
The band released its self-titled, self-produced debut EP in the summer of 2009. That same year would see Weathered Home establish itself in the Vancouver music scene. Due to a dedicated following and a repertoire of over 30 original songs, the band has been asked to return to every venue it has played. Most notable is the Lonsdale Quay, a landmark centre on Vancouver's North Shore, which consistently books Weathered Home for summer and winter events.
The full length album with be available March 2011. Produced by Tom Dobrzanski, producer for 2009 PEAK Performance winners "We Are the City".
