About Tom Pesciotta Quartet
Tom Pesciotta is a saxophonist with 30 years experience in the jazz genre. He was educated at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and holds degrees in Music Composition and Music Education. His compositions have been published and his works have been commissioned for student ensembles in the Rochester, NY area. He has performed, composed and arranged for a variety of ensembles throughout his career.
From 2004 through 2006, Tom was a member of the Jazz Composers Workshop in New York City where he had the opportunity to work with acclaimed jazz composers Jim McNeely and Michael Abene and is currently continuing studies in jazz composition with Dave Rivello, a faculty member at the Eastman School of Music.
Tom has performed at the Rochester International Jazz Festival as a member of the Greater Rochester Jazz Orchestra and has regularly played with many local jazz ensembles during the past 20 years. His own jazz quartet plays traditional jazz from the Great American Songbook, the bebop era, contemporary styles and original music that keeps the band sounding fresh.
