Add a dash of optimism and catchy lyrics to make you feel like you can take on the world. Introducing…the Gilded Lilies.
The Gilded Lilies singer songwriters Jennifer Paskow and Joanna de Seyne met while standing in line at a music conference in Hollywood in 2006. After a lengthy conversation which included birthing and Buddhism, they also discovered that both of their fathers were coping with the same rare illness in the same hospital in New York City.
As they began writing together, this astounding coincidence became the source of their inspiration. Both songwriters share a strength and optimism that weaves its way through all of their songs.
And so, since beginning their creative collaboration three years ago, the Gilded Lilies’ mission has been to inspire hope and empowerment through the words and the music they write. While both songwriters derive from diverse musical tastes and backgrounds, the music they write together blends into a satisfying mix of strong melodies and heart felt lyrics.
Their debut EP, the gilded lilies volume one, found its way into the hands of Ironman and Transformers music supervisor Dave Jordan. The Lilies are working closely with his company, Format Entertainment, on several upcoming projects for film and television. They are currently collaborating with London-based music producer and songwriter, Jesper Mattsson on World Health Alliance’s first music album aimed at raising the profile of hepatitis. Their song, This Day, was selected to represent the United States for this international project. In addition, their song, On the Inside, was chosen by the Dove Self-Esteem Fund’s Global Ambassador and Seventeen Magazine columnist, Jess Weiner, as the theme song for her body image workshops across America. Their song, So Long Farewell won The Pop category in the 2009 West Coast Songwriter’s Song Contest.
