Alyssa Marie and Shianne Lea
Alyssa Marie Martin- I am 16 and in eleventh grade this year at cyber school. I am actively involved in music in many ways. My main instrument is the violin and I play in several symphonys and orchestras including the Hershey Symphony, Lebanon Valley College Orchestra, etc. I have been playing the guitar for only a year off and on but I am completely self-taught. I am homeschooled so that I can grow musically and still take school seriously and to a whole other level. songwriting and performing are two of my favorite past times and hobbies. Someday I hope to pursue a career in the music business in any way that I can contribute.
Shianne Lea Martin- Hi. I just turned 12-years-old and I am the younger sister of Alyssa Marie. I am active in music as well in many different ways. I play the viola in a chamber group as well as an orchestra and I hope to follow my sister's path and join many more as I grow in musical knowledge. I love to sing and I am in a select choir where I hope to solo. I have a strong, raspy voice and Alyssa has a pretty higher voice so we make a very good team. I love to dance and I play the bass guitar. I am really outgoing too. haha. Being athletic is one thing I have over my sis. I am on several different soccer teams and one is a travel league that we are placed in first right now going into the play offs. yay! fun stuff. I am actually one kid that loves school. Hard to believe, I know. I am in all honors and have a high A average. 6th grade is hard but I manage and friends really do help. :) Hope you enjoy our music.
SLAM: We came up with the idea after our string quartet broke up. We wanted a way to perform together but this time break from classical music and give rock music an acoustic edge. We write many songs and try to practice as much as we can. We love performing live but haven't gig'd much together yet. We have heard that our harmony is great and we are talented musicians together and seperatly. One of our keys is we get along great for being sisters and music brings us closer together. We are so different in personality but that is why we click and make such a great team. We have only been around for almost a year. Come see us live!!
