About Simia Dei

Sydney, Australia

Up an coming progressive/melodic metal band Simia Dei [sim – ee – are, day] will be releasing their long awaited CD One Month, One Minute, due to be released August, 2009.

Formed in late 2003, Simia Dei is a four piece based in Sydney Australia. Simia Dei have recently been in the studio with ARIA nominated music Producer Greg Stace, fine tuning their already massive sound to produce their long awaited CD One Month One Minute. ''The best Metal / Hard Rock band I have ever recorded, Simia Dei are an upcoming force that will not be ignored '' Greg Stace.

Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres including a large blend of popular music ranging from heavy metal to emotive melodic rock, Simia Dei manage to churn out an undeniably intense and driving in your face sound. Accompanied by powerful, raw melody lines, fueled by insane emotion and colossal screams. This combination brings a fresh, unique sound providing a vigorous live show which reverberates through the audience and walls. What results is a set, which barely gives you time to stop and think, let alone take a breath.

The band have just signed to DEAD Famous Records and their (4) track EP will be released nationally on September 4th via MGM Distribution and Music OZ.

“SIMIA DEI have been building a great reputation as being a band that do things well. Playing this night at Blink as part of a great lineup, they showed that the professionalism they have built has not left them cold and mechanical, but still deliver their tunes, harboring a sound reminiscent of early Deftones, with the character and passion required to connect with their audience”.
