About Sarah Brown
Sarah Brown grew up near the Mississippi River in Onalaska, Wisconsin, and at a very young age showed an interest in music and performance.
With family support, Sarah was encouraged to be involved in music programs at school. Throughout her education, she was involved in orchestra, choir, show choir, and theatre. Her natural talent for the stage landed her lead and supporting roles in over seven high school productions as well as numerous honors awards for voice and violin. In high school Sarah performed in one of the most prestigious show choirs in the nation, The Hilltopper Show Choir. During that time she won over eight female solo awards as well as talent awards at Show Choir Camps of America. Sarah's name quickly spread throughout her hometown. The local fame landed her opportunities to sing with area high school jazz bands and at various community events and celebrations.
After graduating from high school in 2004, Sarah received a $10,000 talent scholarship to study music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. At Berklee, Sarah's songwriting skills and talent grew in her classes as well as in ensembles such as the Berklee Gospel Choir. Berklee became a place for her independent musicianship to grow. She quickly adjusted to big city life and began writing music and performing in the Boston area.
As well as being a lead vocalist and songwriter, Sarah has had the opportunity to sing background vocals for artists such as Jo Dee Messina and the legendary R&B singer Chaka Khan. She has also collaborated and recorded on many album projects and demos.
Sarah graduated from Berklee in 2008 and is currently living in Nashville, TN. Her first EP is now available for purchase.
