About Rick Nichols
New York, NY
An award winning musician, producer and teacher, Nichols has made a career out of inspiring people through music and sound. After graduating from Harvard in 1986, Rick focused on producing and performing his own music in clubs and venues in the Northeastern U.S., and eventually abroad. Writing, performing and producing his own music since 1977, Nichols released original albums in 1989, 1992, 1998, and 2002. Expanding his work producing other artists, Rick built and directed recording studios in Boston, and later in New York City. He eventually created a music recording workshop that enabled young people and beginners to use computers and software programs to produce their own CDs. Nichols has taught sound and music production at Boston’s Emerson College and Massachusetts Communication College, at IAR, SAE, and NYU in New York City. He is founder and director of both LINKING-POINT and Project Synchrony, undertakings he seeded in 2008 as the culmination of his music-driven, people-linking vision.
