Hailing from Hartsville, SC is the most promising and rising star to hit SC. Known as many names but only goes by one; *Pizzle* is here to change the game.
Born on Aug 30, Flen, aka *Pizzle*, has had rapping in his thoughts ever since he was a youngster. Since starting at age 12 and being influenced by a Darlington, SC based group called Code-Red, *Pizzle* has been learning the game, not only from an artist’s perspective, but on the business side also. Since going on a 3 year hiatus to Hawaii due to joining the US Navy, *Pizzle* is back in South Carolina and is ready to do what he always said he would do; put the 843 in the game. Many of South Carolina’s artists reside in the upper part of the region (864 and 803) and not from the lower part. This is why *Pizzle* is ready to bring the game to the lower region of the 843.
*Pizzle*’s music is unique. He raps about only what he knows and what he has done. Since he was not a drug dealer nor did he grow up in a bad neighborhood, his music is reflectively positive of his life. He has the normal club tracks and booty shaking music, but he also has music that brings unity; relationship love, and also songs for kids. His song “What Up” tells the story of him being a regular person, doing the same things he has been doing and remaining humble. His music is compared to T.I., Kid Cudi, and Kanye West because of his exceptional style to be versatile on any track that he appears on. Whether it’s a love song or a club banger, Pizzle always gains the attention of his listeners.
Grinding hard to get his music out, his hit single, “IM FROM THE SOUTH” has been featured on Florence, SC’s biggest radio station, WYNN 106.3 on DJ Shi C 7’oclock Mix-tape Show, Sumter, SC’s POWER 99.3 Artist Spotlight and Thursday Night Throw Down. Also, his hit single “NEVER SEEN” as been played in strip clubs around the Pee Dee. He has been doing local shows promoting his mixtape “Crème De La Crème” and making a lot of noise with ringtones, and tee-shirts. Since becoming a MyxerIndie Artist, *Pizzle* has changed the ringtone game single handedly. Having over 350 ringtones downloaded and placed on fan’s phones, he has done what no SC local artist has ever done. When asked about the ringtone success he said, “It’s a good feeling to hear my song as somebody’s ringtone and I don’t even know them. I am blessed to become somebody who can give people good quality music as a ringtone and also make their boyfriends mad when they hear an unknown rapper playing on their chicks phone (LOL).”
While becoming a star, *Pizzle* has brought an image that one no would ever expect from a 21-year-old. He carries around a Marvel Heroes book bag with him at all times to show his struggle as an artist. The book bag is also worn by his whole team who act as hype men and personal assists to him. *Pizzle* is not afraid of wearing it and loves to tell the story behind it. He says, “The reason my team and I wear it is because they help me with everything I do and they were with me before anybody knew me. I brought them the bags and told them that once I get on I will buy you guys a Louie, Gucci, or any other big name brand bag to show that you can come from nothing and be what you want to be.”
Hoping to grasp hold to all ears in SC and in the Southeastern region, *Pizzle* wants to show other upcoming artists they can make it in the music industry even if they come from a small town and without having to be a dope boy.
