About PitNoise

Corroios, Portugal

PitNoise are a new Hard Rock band from Portugal currently formed by 6 members: Chris and Johny on the voice, Ricardo and Bruno on the guitar, Lança on the Bass and Tiago on the drums. The use of both a feminine and a masculine voice is what mainly gives PitNoise its personal character which have given us some nice reviews all arround the world. We play it simple and loud 'cause all we want is to Take The Noise UP and Bring The Pit Down

Band's Biography

The band rehearsed for the first time February 25 2006 and well... Something clicked in that very moment. Starting out as a four men Band it was Ricardo - Guitar, Tiago - Drums, Nuno - Guitar and Johny - vocals who started out this project that soon would be PITNOISE. After a several proposals for the name of the Band we end up chosing PitNoise since weplayed in a basement we called The Pit and the neighbours sometimes complained about the Noise, therefore PitNoise. In the search for one extra Vocal, a female voice, and after some add responses that did not go that well, Cheila came along and joined us in this path. With her came also the need for a Bass player, fortunately Hugo came along too and supplied us with all the tools we needed. PitNoise had reached they’re first formation. On June-22-2006 we had our first show and for the first time in front of more than a hundred people we were able to experience the public’s reaction to our own music, and let’s say it was amazing. After some more show’s, Hugo and Cheila left PitNoise in the summer of 2006 for personal reasons. Since then PitNoise were reborn with 2 new members: Chris as the new feminine voice and Lança on the Bass. We rehearsed with the new formation on August 30 2006 and it couldn’t have gone better. On 14 October 2006 we were part of the DECIBEL Rock Fest, a festival organized by us that was clearly a success having close to 300 spectators. We initialized the recording of our first EP on November 25 2006, exactly 9 months after the band rehearsed for the first time and we heard its final version on December 9 of the same year. On the February 25 2007, our first birthday, we organized a party at Sunday Starter's Lounge in order to launch the official version of our first EP. This party that counted with the participation of several Bands we also presented some videoclips that marked some important points for us in our first year of PitNoise. We also presented our first version of the Video for the song "Segue o Sonho". We appeared on the April's Magazine for the Cultural Agenda of Almada and in the first edition of the "Agenda Clip" due to our concert on "Centro Cultural Juvenil de Santo Amaro". On the 29th of the same month, we made our firste "appearance" on the radio, opening the second hour for the show "Estrondo" on Lafões Fm and on May 26 2007 PitNoise had their first internationalization as some of our songs played on the show Rapsódia Portuguesa on Super Rádio Tupi, one of the largest radios on Rio de Janeiro with over 3 million spectators! On June 25 2007 at 10 am, PitNoise was also interviewed on Best Rock FM (one of the biggest radios in Portugal) by Miguel Peixoto, in order to introduce the Band to all the country. After that some other radios joined in on playing us in Portugal (RUA fm, X-Fm, RUM fm, Rádio Zero…) and again in Brazil (Radio UFScar). After playing in the Sunburst Rock Fest (20 and 21 of July 2007) Nuno abandoned the band to follow his own project. Therefore on July 22 PitNoise initiated their third formation since Bruno (who was being prepared for this eventuality) joined the band Officially. Since then we have been giving a lot of gigs all over Portugal and participating in Music and/or band Contests like "Festival de Música Moderna de Viseu" or "Rock em Santos". We've been reviewed by some magazines and Webzines either national or International, always with very positive results, highliting the webzine Rockum from Peru whose classification of 8/10 put PitNoise in the same level of bands like Him or Stone Sour. We are also recording our first Oficial Videoclip for the song Get Dressed and Leave. That's our story untill this point, tune in next week and maybe we have some new stuff to tell you 'cause you have to remember: This is History in the making!
