Nikki Heath, is a prolific singer/songwriter out of Lubbock, Texas. Nikki played basketball for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders and was a member of the 1993 National Championship team with teammate Sheryl Swoopes. Nikki wrote the theme song for the National Championship team “We Can Make It Happen” which became a local hit. While at Texas Tech she recorded and published a short album of self-penned tunes that received local air play and sold over 10,000 copies. Nikki plays guitar and piano. She won the Texas Tech Songwriter’s Award in 1994 and the Lubbock Hall Search Competition. Nikki has performed all over Texas and New Mexico in various venues and has performed with Country recording artist, Daron Norwood. She also has performed at the famed Cactus Theater in Lubbock, Texas. Writing songs since the age of 6, Nikki released her debut CD: Nikki Heath, This Is The Time in 2003 on the independent label, Thrill Joy Records. “The album is compilation of her own original music. The guitar work moves from traditional folk finger picking and strumming thru rock that would play on any station in the US.”(News-Record) Her debut CD has sold over 13,000 copies since its release. “Heath is a very talented singer and songwriter. Her talents are not limited to the court.” (Bill Hart, Abilene Reporter News) Nikki is originally from Sweetwater, Texas, and currenly makes her home in Dallas, Texas.
