About Mound Road Engine

Ferndale, MI

If you're looking for quality hard rock, stop right here!
Mound Road Engine has spawned from the streets of Detroit Rock City and is here to kick your ass! When Dan's guitar, James's drums, Andy's bass and Cole's voice merge into one badass sound, you might go crying home to mommy or you might just swear yourself into our loyal fan allegiance!
M.R.E.'s sound is incredibly unique, melodic yet heavy, and though its lead vocals come from a female, undeniably ballsy. The bass player, Andy, can't stop using the phrase "In your face" to describe us! What's that tell you???!! If you think you can handle our sound, check us out via Myspace: Listen for yourself (we DARE you!) and see where you can check us out live. Till then, keep on listening to those "other" bands, but once you feel the rage of MRE, you won't go back!!
Our musical influences range from Pantera, Metallica, and Prong, to Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin. Our second public show, Nov. 1, 2007, at a classic Detroit heavy rock club, called The I-Rock Nightclub, was an opening spot playing with Prong!!
The name of the band came from a closed down automotive engine plant that was torn down, just like a lot of things in Detroit: closed down, torn down, or both. To honor the name of the plant, and an employee that worked there, the band was thus named so they would not be forgotten. And the name seems to aptly fit us, because we’re gonna run you over with all of the power of a fully blown Hemi-powered hot rod!! So just like the products that the Motor City is famous for producing, we’re here to let you know that Detroit has a new ‘metal’ product: Mound Road Engine
