About michelle lee
red deer county, Canada
Michelle Lee is a singer, songwriter and musician who has grown up dreaming and aspiring to great heights. As a child she studied both piano and voice in a classical style which gave her a great foundation to grow from. she travelled North America and Ireland at the age of 13 with a singing group, performed at Carnegie Hall with her highschool jazz choir and studied every aspect of music in Australia for 2 years. It was in her late teens that she blossomed and truly found her own writing style.
She has been quoted as saying " I consider myself a writer before anything else. It gives me the ability to vocalize all the words I can't in conversation."
Several years ago she recorded a demo in Nashville with tracks that include "In the name of Love", "Little Red Shoes" and "You should know". Her more recent project was recorded in Calgary with producer Russell Broom and includes 6 new tracks all written by herself. This project will be available for sale by the summer of 2010.
Last year Michelle won a competition that allowed her to travel to, and perform, at the Juno's all within weeks of donating a kidney to her brother. The experience of both events was life changing and inspiring for Michelle.
Like many of us Michelle has lived through ups and downs and it has been through this that she has found inspiration and a hope to write and sing. She hopes that her music may touch the lives of so many of us out there looking for something to believe in.
She is a musical chameleon but you can definitely see she is influenced by pop, rnb and folk when she writes.
