Kent was raised around simple people in a quaint Amish town in northern Indiana. He studied classical composition on piano for 10 years and then jazz composition for 5 years, which laid the foundation for his own music.
Kent's compositions are also influenced by music from Sarah Mclachlan, Tori Amos, Feist and many others. Kent’s 2nd release - Songs From Those Days, draws from these varied influences, utilizing great vocal talents form around the country.
