I am a singer/songwriter. Rolling Stone describes me as having "a special brand of jazzy acoustic pop that is sophisticated beyond her years”(Rolling Stone,2007).
I just returned from my first foray to L.A. to further my songwriting prospects. I will return there in 2010 to follow up some contacts and possibilities. I am a keen collaborator and co-write in several genres.
My songs have won many awards over the past few years, including one from national songwriters' association APRA (Songwriter Award) and I was invited to showcase at the APRA S3 Song Summit in Sydney in 2008. In 2006/7 a grant from John Butler’s JB Seed assisted the release and subsequent tour of my second EP, Under My Skin.
In 2009 my acoustic song “Sleepy Head” was selected for a UN/Fender Music Foundation international compilation and my song "Under my skin" was signed for a feature film “Suite for Fleur”.(See my Sonicbids profile for a full list of awards/achievements).
I have played festivals all over including the huge St Kilda Festival in 2007 and 2008, plus festivals interstate with and without my band. Grants from The Australia Council have helped me to keep on recording and songs from my 2 EP’s ("Under My Skin" and "Back of Our Minds")are available on iTunes.
