Fraternity Ward

About Fraternity Ward

Long Beach, CA

Fraternity Ward started off as a layering experiment envisioned by Elliott Quesada formerly of the Nu-Grunge-funk-jazz band MuffinTop. The original line up consisted of ten fictional brothers by the last name of ward, hence the band name Fraternity Ward being a play on words with the standard hospital wing, maternity ward. There was also a fictional band manager by the name of Rikki Masters. Quesada wrote and played all of the musical parts including vocals for the three different singers. He then realized that a live performance would have been out of the question. Quesada asked his former band member Alfred McWilliams (drummer) and Jordan Jones (bass) if they would be interested in helping him give life to his new music. It was a smooth transition due to the line up being pretty much MuffinTop minus their singer.Jones made an unofficial departure in late 2009. The void has since been filled by master bassist Zack Hammond. For the months to come FW would audition a few prospective lead guitarists until late June when they found the right man for the job...
