Coming from small town Canada in the tight knit northern community of Cochrane, Ontario is where Francine Comeau first began connecting dots. As her proud parents might suggest, those dots were being connected on a piece of music tabloid paper. Having been born into a family of music lovers,Francine was surrounded by a constant flow of music. " Every one played an instrument from guitars to banjos, mandolins, spoons, her sister was taking accordian lessons, anything that made music was fair game in her household. With the sounds of country music legends like, Pasty Cline, Kenny Rogers, Stompin' Tom Connors and the " Man In Black " Johnny Cash, being played in the household, more dots were being connected in her young musical mind.
Many years later While at a get together on New Years Day of 2009 Song writer John Chubb suggested to Francine " I think I have the perfect song for you for you to sing " John was referring to a song " Just To Shine " that he and Co writer Michael Theodore had penned in 1993. When Francine read the lyrics there was an immediate connection ( Remember those dots ) with the message in the song. As John strummed the song on his guitar, they both knew they had found a gem.
As Francine explains " Just To Shine, Is about letting go of the past and moving forward. Its about Transitions in life, whatever they may be, they are seldom easy. Whether it's a relationship, losing a friend, a job... it's difficult to let go of the familiar and move forward into the unknown "
With her sultry voice and Jazzy vocal delivery she has picked up where she left off all those years ago. It is quite fitting that the song " Just To Shine " be the first Song Francine would sing and record after so many years away from the music scene. And more Ironic that it be Chosen On New Years Day.
Listening to her debut song, Francine Comeau has clearly demonstrated this is her time to finally rekindle her love and passion for music, and to allow herself the time " Just To Shine ".
Currently Francine is working on writing songs, a new venture for her, and hopes to have to have her first Cd completed by mid 2010 as a gift to her parents. Having never written any songs until recently, Francine is trying her hand at writing her thoughts and feelings down in order to create songs that contain a piece of herself.
