About Elijah Bradford and Purpose Driven
Elijah Bradford and Purpose Driven is a group of young energetic singers that started singing together at Ebenezer Junior High school in Sumter, S.C. At that time the choir was under the name "The Sounds of Ebenezer." The director was Mrs. Patricia Waddell- a distinguished musician, Classical Singer, and 7th grade Science teacher.Upon entering Crestwood High School, the students felt the need to continue this "good thing." Several of the students went to administrators for assistance in cultivating a gospel choir and were denied. Still determined, they formed their own community choir consisting of about thirty students from Crestwood, Camden, and Lakewood High schools. After much hard work and dedication, the choir then took on the name "The Evangelistic Community Choir" under the direction of Elijah Bradford and Tia Campbell. They traveled from church to church in the community and abroad as far as Georgia and Tennessee.Upon graduating from high school in 2002, the choir found it to be a great task to find the time to rehearse and make engagements. Some members went to college while others were starting new lives. Eventually they ceased to travel. After returning from Newberry College, Elijah saw the vision to reassemble the group, but this time with a greater purpose. He felt that he had learned and matured to a level of integrity and worship that was simply unbelievable. God showed him key people to ask to be a part of this vision and the rest is gospel history.Elijah Bradford &Purpose Driven, along with Coffee House Productions, now host the Word In Song Conference.. The Conference allows musicians and singers to cultivate their God given gifts. It also consists of workshops, talents shows "Treble Clef Cafe," worship services, musicals, and all white praise parties. This anointed choir concluded last years conference with their fist live recording. The Cd is infused with Bradford's renewed passion for song writing- containing musical selections ranging from praise and worship to old-school churchin'. Their aproach is not about grooves, it is more about the message of the Gospel to reach the masses. God has anointed and appointed this group for such a time as this and they are determined to give people the pure word of God through song.
