Diatribe

Representing Chicago is the ambitious triumvirate known as Diatribe. Originating in the back of a high school english class in the late nineties, the group has evolved into a three-piece operation consisting of emcee/producer Epitome, emcee/manager J-Note, and producer/engineer Soda Pop. While the sound of their back catalogue touts a quirky, personalized interpretaion of golden era hip-hop (as evident on the group’s soon to be reissued ”Roaring 20s” record), the modern day Diatribe finds itself branching out into a number of fresh new directions both lyrically and production-wise. With a list of collaborators that includes such characters as Dres (of Black Sheep fame), JUICE (freestyle icon), and Kevin Coval (recurring Def Poetry guest), and with more on the horizon, heads should definitely keep on the lookout for the camp’s string of projects and side ventures slated for early ’08 releases.
