Bear Grass Records recording artist Deidre Heaton's original writing is acoustic driven music crossing over between the genres of Acoustic Americana, Folk, and Blues as well as some traditional favorites
Deidre is currently performing in the Flathead Valley and surrounding areas promoting her soon to be released CD “Lost Prairie” on Bear Grass Records. “Deidre’s songs will take you on road trips through the long dusty roads of Texas, the whiskey drinking taverns of Montana and to a quite country church on a Sunday morning.
Deidre was born in Boston and was raised a farm girl in the hub of Maine. Music was always a part of her life; going to Bluegrass Festivals as a young girl and singing in choirs. As soon as she picked up the guitar in college she was writing songs and performing at college clubs. Her first large performance was at the University of Maine’s Bumstock Festival where at 19 she played in front of a crowd of 1200
In 1995, Deidre moved to where she still resides in the mountains of Montana. She gradated from the University of Montana in Missoula with a degree in Music Education. Currently, Deidre is building a music program at Montana Academy and is enjoying bringing music to the lives of adolescents. She plans to further her studies in Music Therapy and to also teach abroad
