About Death in Torture
The band was formed in early 2005 by Leo Chambers and Sean Graves. After some songs were written, they decided to go into the studio and record a demo. The general take on the demo was that it was an average, run-of-the-mill early 2000's doom metal demo. Leo and Sean shared vocal duties during the beginning stages of the band. A few months after their demo was unleashed upon the unsuspecting masses, Sean called Leo up one night and said he was unhappy with the way his vocals came out. He said he no longer wanted to sing. By default, Leo became the lead singer. Leo had playing guitar for 9 years by then, and looked at himself as a guitarist first, singer second. they had to go back into the studio to re-cut the vocals for the few songs Sean had sung on. That went fine, and they were ready to take over the metal world! So here they were with a new demo tape. They never pressed this demo nor released it properly; They basically made copies at home. It's estimate that 500 or so of these demos were handed out at various local metal shows during the spring and summer of 2006. This time the reaction was better.By the beginning of 2007, they had over thirty songs written. It was agreed that they would now record thier first album. they had no label interest, and no financial backing for the recording. While they were saving thier funds, tragedy struck,Sean had suffered severe injuries in a car wreck and passed away shortly after. After a year of mourning the loss of his friend and band mate, Leo decided to continue onward writing and recording new music, in memory and tribute to Sean, released the album "Tortured Soul".Shortly after the search began for new band members. Leo was contacted by Twisted Pig, shortly after they began writing lyrics as well as shooting there first video "Necrokill." which became there first time working together on the very heart and soul of the project. Now they reside in Fayetteville North Carolina where the heart of Death in Torture beats on relentlessly, until they reach the stage. When a loved one falls you continue on in the memory..as those fall around you you remember them and the dreams they had, well Leo's dream was the same as Sean's, and so is Twisted. To carry on in honor and memory of the fallen held dear to us. Most people live a life and die and there names dissapear in time, our dream like anyone elses is, "To be Remembered." So through the Darkness and Chaos we call life we will continue on in hopes of becoming much more than just a name or a band, but to create something with heart and soul which breathes through us in our music...we have learned one thing from Sean and that is that life is short, and you only have one life and one dream, you only have one chance, so fight for it. Will we continue on as hard as we can to get our name heard?...you bet your ass...
