About Cupla
Port Moody, Canada
Cupla (koop-luh)
1. Irish Gaelic for 'twin' or 'a couple of....'
Bobby and Billy McAloney are twins. One plays guitar and one plays drums. They've had the same musical influences (Meatloaf, Big Sugar, White Stripes, Metallica and Slipknot), and they've played together in the same bands.
Now together again in Cupla, the real fun starts as they take their combined decades of experience and start to roll out the good stuff.
It's an old fashioned rock band with heart. With Trish McAloney in the lead, Ken Li on lead guitar and Todd Wegener on Bass, it's a bit of Patti Smith and a bit of Lou Reed and a lot of work eithic that's paid off....at last.
Cupla started as a 2 man project by identical twins Bill & Bob McAloney hence the name " Cupla " which is Irish for twins. They soon realized they needed a voice to reach to the fans, they found this voice close to home in Tricia McAloney.
Once these 3 started the Cupla train it picked up momentum very quickly. They recently met Ken Li from another band and connected right away having the same influences in music as the other 3 and has now taken the "Lead" guitar position! Last but certainly not least the Thunder behind Cupla our new bassist Travis Rankin !!!
We're once again ready to rock a whole lotta new stuff that is close to the heart and sure to rock you all.
"We do this because we love it, nothing more nothing less." - Cupla
