"Out Of ConFusion" is the latest album from Austrian vintage-rockers, ConFused5. The project was funded by an international network of music fans through Sellaband.com. Guitarists Markus Melms, Alex Kranabetter and singer/keyboardist Herbert Hopfgartner first joined forces in 1981 as Frust, a seminal rock band from Salzburg. Reunited in 2003 as ConFused5, they are joined by singer/bassist Kurt Breidler and veteran Drummer "Beda" Bachmayer on their 2008 release Out of Confusion, a collection of powerful, guitar-driven songs.
Los Angeles studio veteran Pete Strobl returned to his Austrian roots to produce Out Of Confusion, recording the tracks at Salzburg's Sonic Flow Studio and mixing the album in Los Angeles with award winning producer/engineer Ron Hitchcock. Strobl's years at Shangri La Studio(Mark Knopfler, Keb' Mo', Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Kings Of Leon) and Hitchcocks work with the likes of Toto, Rita Coolidge and Neil Diamond brought a distinctively vintage analog flavor to the production.
Since the album release, ConFused5 has gained fans worldwide with over 150,000 views on internet profiles including Myspace, Sellaband.com, Cultureload, LastFm and YouTube. Out of ConFusion has had over 40,000 listens and the band's videos have had over 30,000 plays.
ConFused5 recently hosted Local Hero on Gotv (Austrian MTV) and the band has been featured on FM4, Ö1, ORF Salzburg(TV), and Antenne Salzburg.Cuts from the album have been in the rotation on 88.6, the leading private radio station of Vienna and Lower Austria as well as Untersberg Live and ARFm in the United Kingdom. The video Don't Hide Your Blues was Regiomusic.de's video of the month.
ConFused5 has performed live at the prestigious Paradiso in Amsterdam and has appeared in concert at the Rockhouse, ARGE, Oval, Gusswerk and other local Salzburg concert venues.
Out Of ConFusion, the latest album from ConFused5 is catchy yet musically complex, mature but full of youthful exuberance, and in the best rock tradition, best when enjoyed at a healthy volume. Until now it sold 3.000 copies around the world, available at Amzon.com.
