About Ardee

San Antonio, TX

Wow … did I make a discovery after Thanksgiving; and to think it only took 50 plus years and a few inventions to make it all happen. Well, I just don’t know what to say. Did you know that you can make music with nothing more than a computer and LOTS and LOTS of what they call royalty free loops, one shots and sounds … and software to do the heavy lifting? Well, that was my discovery, and I’ve had a sore ass ever since from sitting in front of the new PC I bought just to see what I could do with this newfound knowledge. So far I’m up to 19 songs. I’m uploading 5 tunes just to get my feet wet (it sort of feels like discovering you had your zipper down after all the strangers have walked away).
I hope you will give a listen to the variety of styles I’ve included. I like all types of music from all over and will try to get in digital form what has been in my head ever since I could shake my diapered ass to a beat. Drums were the only instrument I ever played, which is why percussion plays a prominent part in nearly all my arrangements. In some ways I’m embarrassed to think of myself as an artist, but hey … that’s what happens when innovation takes hold and people see profits in giving someone like me the tools to make a dream come true and to create songs from someone else’s talent (of course, just finding what you want can be a challenge worthy of some sort of recognition).
In a short time I expect to incorporate some REAL talent into my pieces … someone, maybe more than one someone, who took the time to master an instrument. When that happens, I’ll feel much better about this and will be sure and let you all know in banner headlines. As for me, the time has come and gone, because I think playing an instrument is like learning a language; you either have what it takes or you don’t, and since age makes it more of an uphill battle, I figure I’ll limit myself to making use of technology . My fingers and my eyes are still good after all, and my ear is discerning. It’s a trip. Hell, it’s even better than the 60’s; and all I ingest now is a lot of coffee and a slew of prescribed pills.
Enjoy … and comments (even critical ones) are welcome.
