About Analogue PlayGround
Wesley Cole Switzer and Niklas Karlsson, students from Berklee College Of Music in Boston, join forces with San Diego drummer, Tom Atkins, to form ANALOGUE PLAYGROUND.
Wesley and Niklas met at Berklee, beginning of an extensive musical journey together. Originally from San Diego, Wesley Cole Switzer returned to California in September, 2008, bringing along his good friend Niklas Karlsson who hails from Sweden. Formerly members of ZHB (the Zach Hillyard Band) bassist Wesley Cole Switzer and guitarist Niklas Karlsson wasted no time in adding drummer Tom Atkins to their new project.
With Wes bringing a one of a kind slap influenced bass style reminiscent of Marcus Miller; Niklas bringing his nitty gritty blues with influences of J. Beck and Scofield, and Tom with his unwavering groove and pocket, the group is eager to reach a new audience in California-and across the U.S.
The funk/jazz/blues/soul project promises to deliver on it's mission, ""Bring back good music; and it's musicianship without being constrained by contemporary clicks, scenes and the limits of musical identities. We are funk, blues, jazz, rock, all mixed into a bag that works as one. Our market is everyone that really loves GOOD MUSIC - -which is somehow hard to find these days; obscured behind what's "cool" or not. We want to avoid all that, and simply write and play music that people from any scene can be a part of. "
