Vigo, Spain
Aíd is a forward page on hip hop's world, an artist who exudes nerve when she raps, a
balanced blend of wit and style that born from a basis of good taste and a funk and soul. But, first of all, a blatant youth. Aíd, whose name begins to sound very hard after winning the Heineken Greenspace fourth edition over a thousand of candidates, or because of to have almost half million views on myspace.
Aíd is the nickname of Aída Alonso (Vigo, Spain 1990), Mc,
universitary student of electronic and speaker at Radio Piratona, a program which reviews
the local hip hop scene and the old black music.
BIO
Her first contact with hip hop was at the age of eleven, when she saw the bboys and the
writters giving life to the walls of her secondary school. At this moment, inside her borns the need of telling and writting what she lives each day.
At the age of fourteen she sent a home recording with four songs to a good friend, who placed
them on a well known hip hop website. The big impact they got was only the first step.
The 8990 crew appears one year later, a basis for different collective and individual
projects. Among them, Aíd’s ‘AQUI TENEIS (January 07, produced by 12pros).
That same year she joined in the Licor Kafé musical project, releasing LICOR KAFÉ VOL.1.
But 2008 was coming as the year of Aíd’s emergence: on her seventeen years, and just
accompanied by DJ Liha and Bboy Rubn (Inthecisos Crew), she convinces the audience and
the jury as the best among 1300 musical proposals presented to the Fourth Heineken
Greenspace edition for newcoming artists.
On February’09 is coming JUGANDO, her debut album.
Her influences are diverse and heterodox, from the 'old school' rap of Erick Sermon, Nas,
Twista, Ice Cube, Bustha Rhymes, Delasoul, Greg Nice or MC Young, to Roxanne
Shantee... but also a high degree of innovation: from reggae to electronic or folk. Thus, we find
in -JUGANDO- sixteen songs filled of eighties’ sounds, disco, black music, funk, jazz-soul...
