About Agari Crew
Boston, MA
Agari Crew is a collective of DJs, MCs, Singers, Producers, and Visual Artists. Based out of Boston and Tokyo, Agari Crew is an international cultural movement; more so than it is a traditional band. The name, Agari, comes from Japanese, meaning “to elevate”. That is precisely what they do with their music; elevate the listener to a heightened state to where the listener can feel good again.
Agari Crew formed in Tokyo in 2005, when KLK introduced his childhood friends DJ Mogg and DJ Suo to visiting artist Maestro1ton. Maestro1ton and DJ Mogg did several shows around Tokyo, solidifying the foundation for Agari Crew. Since 2005 Agari Crew has been working hard on both fronts (US and Japan), performing, recording, collaborating with other artists, (including Moe Pope, Terri Lyne Carrington, DJ Tonk, Richie Hart), and spreading the idea of “elevation” through the artist communities they come in contact with. Agari Crew continues to grow and expand membership on both sides, most recently with artist/B Boy Mayan Tamang to start the “Elevate” clothing line.
The debut release “I’m Ready” couldn’t be more fitting to the soul of Agari Crew. Having taken the time and effort to construct and polish the sound, these boys are ready. With a smooth blend of live instruments, sampled drums, soothing vocal harmonies, and soldier-like lyricism, “I’m Ready” is sure to reach all lovers of music, old school and new school.
