About 40-Four Records/GetRight Productions
The artist YAHmil is from Plainfield, New Jersey. He has been influenced by artists such as NWA, Run DMC, Big L, KRS 1, Nas, D-Block and Dipset, just to name a few. He started freestyling with friends and in the streets every chance he had. Then he started writing rap music and putting songs together, along with doing freestyle tapes and handing them out to see what people thought. Getting back good reviews on his music, YAHmil started to think about creating his own label, so he came up with the label name O.N.O Entertainment. , meaning Official Niggaz Only, which is based off of his respect for the group NWA. YAHmil moved to Maine in 2002 ,in doing so this made it harder to get the right contacts for music and to get the right people to hear his music. YAHmil stands alone for O.N.O Entertainment, so he started putting in work and met a guy named Eric Allain who had a studio set up in his home. They became cool and started doing music together. They put a CD together in which YAHmil named “Welcome 2 Da Streetz” that Eric Allain Made available on www.cdbaby.com.YAHmil
wasn’t happy with the outcome of the CD so after a falling out of the two YAHmil put together a mixtape called “Hood Victory” which he is putting out in volumes to get a following and to get his name known so he can keep the steps going that will lead to his goal of getting into the music industry. YAHmil had a son in 2005 and a daughter in 2007, so the drive became even more serious and intense for YAHmil but he still stood strong and put in work with most of the free time he had and could get. Then YAHmil wanted to separate O.N.O Entertainment from his record company for business reasons so he named his record company “40 - Four Records” and purchased his own equipment to record and under this label he worked with an artist / friend Chad a.k.a Loc Da American Bulldog and put together a promotional album called “Outta Control” which had a good outcome. The album had a record label in Atlanta called “Rain Management” looking to possibly sign Loc from the project that YAHmil recorded and mixed for him. Also from that project Loc landed collabs with Spark Dawg from Texas and got beats from DJ Sauce from Georgia. During that time YAHmil started on his path to learn more to become more self sufficient. So he got started in graphic design learning a couple of things from a friend / graphic designer Amanda, he was now making his own CD art and web layouts. He has also done layout work for others on myspace.com. Meeting a guy named Spike GetRight through Loc, YAHmil now had a connect that made original beats, becoming close friends / partners he now is on his way to developing a team to work with who all had the same goal. YAHmil has done collabs with artist from London (Base Pound Gang / B.P.G) and an artist from Germany ( Cro - S) and also has done plenty of collabs in New York , Virginia & his home state of New Jersey.
And I will end YAHmil’s biography with a quote from YAHmil himself:
YAHmil said, “I want this first because I want a better way of life for my family than I had and secondly because of my love for music And if I can do that while doing something I love, it would be considered a Win/Win. My music is not only for the streets, it’s for everyday people who live everyday lives no matter what you do or where your from.”
