Is it any wonder that Brandi Carlile won last month (May) in the Folk category? Her fan base has got to be ten times larger than the other more independent, up and coming musicians are competing here and that, I thought anyway, this competition is supposed to be for. Isn't that unfair competition? I thought this platform was for musicians who don't have large record deals already and who are trying to build exposure for themselves? Its sort of unfair to all the other musicians trying to compete in this category.
Do you really need to be on Ourstage? My understanding was this was a site for upcoming musicians who are trying to gain some exposure and recognition, not for professional touring artists with major labels. It just doesn't seem like fair competition to me. I don't believe your song was the best in folk, but not surprised to see you won because of the amount of pull you have. Antje has a much better song. Not meaning to bash you, but what's next? Are we going to start seeing Tim McGraw competing next month?
I like your sound!!! A 60s folkish sound with a modern spin...

Hey Brandi! We saw you with the Indigo Girls a couple of years ago, you were fantastic! Loved when you added that third part harmony with them at the end of the night too. Also heard you on WUMB. You are makin' it in a big way, congratulations! You deserve it!
