"If I Came Back as a Song" explores the possibility of reincarnation. When Nathan was a little boy, he was in love with a girl at his school who didn't know that he existed. However, she loved music and the Beatles were her favorite band. She especially liked the song "Yesterday," and Nathan wished that she would love him as much as she loved that song.
