PlayWood and Strings

What does it mean to be lost in inertia? writers blocks? the absence of a spark to move yourself forward?

What does it mean to face the fact that there are certain aspects of yourself that are pliable and will bend, and others that are hard and will only break if you try put pressure on them? Are we not at times, lost between the two? ( i.e. the wood and strings).
