I second Dr. Matt here: I don't get the tractor! It doesn't seem to relate to you or the song at all. Hopefully you have some professional photos that suit you better! Anyway, this song is very unique and fun to listen to! I'm not a fan of the lyrics in the verses and bridge, but I really love and relate to the lyrics in the chorus. You sing with a very soulful tone and you have a mature sound, but maybe try to back off the thick vibrato a little. It's distracting, in my opinion. I love vibrato when it's used tastefully in pop music. Sometimes in this song, I find that your overuse of it takes away from what you're trying to say. While this song is very interesting in its own right, I don't hear this as something that could be played on the radio. It kind of goes all over the place, and while I appreciate the creativity and musicianship here, I doubt if a typical disc jockey would. Plus, it's a little too long. You sort of lost me toward the end. However, I believe you are very talented and a good writer. This song reminds me of something more in the musical theater style. Did you ever consider writing a song cycle for music theater/cabaret voices?
Shannon is amazing! She's easily one of the best piano players I've ever seen or heard. If you ever get the opportunity to hear her live, do it. I don't understand the tractor in the picture, though.
I have to admit I have been judging several competitions for a few wks now & this song is growing on me more & more & I appreciate it's artistry. Good Luck...
