PlayThe Tragedy of Boquillas

Over the Rio Grande from Texas' Big Bend National Park is a litle Mexican town called Boquillas. The town was dependent on American tourism but after the informal border crossing was closed by the Department of Homeland Security (as a result of 9/11/01) the town of 300 dwindled to less than 100. Now, the few who remain take donations delivered at night by Texas business owners. I am saddened by this story so I chose to write the song for them, and for me. I will miss going to Boquillas
