Hi Dan,
Something is seriously flawed with the selection process, when artists who entered the contest literally within days of the contest closing date, made it to the final 40, when others, who were in the competition for weeks, were eliminated. I find it hard to believe that anyone who entered a week before closing, could accumulate sufficient votes to make it to the final 40. As the voting matchups were theoretically generated in a random fashion, there is no way, that anyone could have influenced their friends and fans to “vote for you before Midnight, Friday”.
Please understand, that I am not writing as a disgruntled contestant. I am a realist who has entered enough competitions in my career to know that not everyone can win. I have won and lost before, and this will continue to be the scenario in the future. You can’t loose if you never enter. I am, however, writing as a person who assumed that a competition of this magnitude would be run in an honest, unbiased, straightforward manner. Once again we learn what happens when you assume.
There is one thing I am absolutely certain of, that out of 101 competitors, I am definitely not the only one who feels this way. I certainly hope that others will come forward to express their displeasure with your voting process, and the dishonest results of your voting process. If no others come forward, so be it, at least I have the comfort of knowing that I did.
