This was born after a hungover bus-ride, where I overheard a coupla old ones talking. They exchanged some old wives' tales I'd never heard before; ferinstance, if you buy a woman shoes, she'll be wearing them when she walks away from you. I thought that was very poetic & started writing this hopeful song of faith & superstition (same thing?).
