Move over, John Mayer — Glenside’s Viv Peyrat is hot on your trail! Tuesday, July 27, 2010 By Michelle Kraus Ticket Intern Viv Peyrat is more than just an ordinary singer-songwriter from Glenside. With a voice that’s out of this world and looks as good as John Mayer, not only will Peyrat be the next star musician, he may be the next Hollywood heartbreaker as well. His music explores all the realms of pop and rock, with touches of some reggae and blues, which is so powerful and can appeal to anyone. He is set to take the stage at the Tin Angel, Saturday, July 31, where he has performed sold-out shows before. Born in France, Peyrat moved to the United States and experienced a culture shock at an early age. “I was young, so I gravitated to the culture here really easy,” says Peyrat. Luckily he adapted very quickly and Abington Township soon became the home that he has come to know and love. His father is a talented drummer in France and his stepfather is a passionate guitarist, so all this musical talent inspired his love for music. He started playing guitar when he was 13 and just fell in love with it. After a few years Peyrat decided to head off to Los Angeles to try to start his music career the right way. Peyrat just released an album in May 2010, “Cadence in the Chaos,” and claims to have worked with some of the best session heads in Philadelphia. “It’s awesome to see how great producers work and how they work with ideas and how they enhance songs,” he says. His talent has also landed him a meet-and-greet with the band Train and John Mayer. Peyrat competed with nearly 900 other artists in the “Save Me, San Francisco” Songwriting Challenge. Songs such as “Heartbreaker” and “So James Dean” landed him three Top 10 finishes, a first-place finish in Acoustic, and a grand prize mentoring session with Train. Peyrat is also set to meet with John Mayer at his show at the Susquehanna Bank Center. “I’m not really sure what is going to happen, but I’m trying to start a friendship and a contact,” exclaims Peyrat. Mainstay at the Tin Angel, Peyrat loves the atmosphere and the intimacy of the room. He loves playing shows for his fans, and even showcases some unrecorded songs such as “All in the Line” and “Tonight We Live Like Kings,” which are two of his absolute favorites. “I love the studio because you get to hear how songs are made, but live is where you can do whatever you want,” says Peyrat. “You can push the song and change the melody. If you are really feeling it, then you can just go crazy onstage. You just get to do whatever you want when you’re in the moment.” With his next three shows scheduled in Philadelphia, two at the Tin Angel on July 31 and Aug. 28, and another at the Grape Room in Manayunk on Sept. 17, Peyrat is showing his love for Philly as he bursts through the music scene. He recently signed a licensing agreement with MTV in April 2010 for five songs, including “So James Dean,” “Could Be You and Me,” “Heartbreaker,” “Crazy” and “Come Out and Play.” With a voice that can entertain many and melt the hearts of others, Peyrat is on a straight path to stardom. He plans to keep writing hit songs and wants to tour a lot more. “I want to try to get my music and name out. I want everyone in the world to hear my songs!”

Why should you know about Viv Peryat? Well not only is Viv easy on the eyes, he actually has more talent in his little finger than most artists on that big tv show to find singers. Check out his multiple acoustic sets posted on YouTube, you will be amazed at his ease in vocals. He also has like over 45,000 fans on MySpace. Basically he is good. It still surprises us here at Music-Is-Life the talent of artists out there that aren’t larger than they are. There is so much talent and we believe that the Global Community of Sound needs fresh blood, constantly. His website vivpmusic.com says Viv Peyrat is an “…artist (that) blends pop, rock, funk, blues and R&B modalities using acoustic and electric guitars that give buoyancy to a versatile brand of hooky material.” We here at Music-Is-Life wanted to share his soul with our growing music community.
