Split Sofa

Following last year’s successful album release ‘THE 7TH LEVEL’, Split Sofa have been busy back in the studio, eager to produce there next offering ‘ A MYSTICAL REASON’.
The Striking imagery on the cover of ‘A MYSTICAL REASON’ is the handiwork of bass player and vocalist Gareth Williams – the first time the band have turned their own hand to this kind of thing.
“We wanted to create an original picture to complement the songs, so I experimented with smoke from joss sticks and different lighting effects and came up with this – we’re really pleased with the results. It also means that ‘ A MYSTICAL REASON’ is a totally home grown product, we did our own recording, mixing, design & printing” said Gareth.
This latest release see’s the Derbyshire based band mature even further into their ‘Sofa Rock’ genre – inspired by luminaries such as Caravan, Love, Pink Floyd, Kula Shaker, etc, ‘ A MYSTICAL REASON’ is a 4 track EP which confirms the band’s promotion from ‘ The 7th Level’ to the next plane.
Front man Lewie Docksey & Martin Gilman wrote all four tracks & both were delighted when the band were contacted by Leeds based entertainment company Headland media who signed a contract to write & produce music for their in house stores. Customers include chain retail outlets, individual stores, commercial and business aircraft, merchant shipping vessels, government & military units, cruise line companies, super yachts, luxury resorts, city hotels, safari camps, gyms and individuals travelling on business.

The band who have a backlog of songs are straight back in the studio to start work on their 5th album to be released later this year.
