www.lawrenceblatt.comPenetrating people's emotions in a way that transcends genres, Lawrence Blatt has found enthusiastic audiences in the new age, adult contemporary, soundtrack, and alternative acoustic markets. Nominated as a finalist for Best Album – New Age by the Independent Music Awards, for his: Out Of The Woodwork, a title that also hit the Top Ten on the New Age Reporter's Top 100 chart. Throughout 2007, Out Of The Woodwork had a massive impact at Radio. Since KGO 810 AM San Francisco News Talk radio host John Rothman spun tracks from the collection on his syndicated show, it's been played on nearly 75 radio stations, and everywhere from New York, L.A., Boston and Philly to Houston and Seattle. Non commercial stations are particularly enthusiastic, as Blatt is airing on 3 formats, classical, folk and new age, not to mention his support on Satellite & Cable radio, as well as on Lifestyle and Online channels. Blatt's music has also been used for film and television and his song: "Here We Go" will appear in the Tom Greene film soundtrack Shred 2. Additionally, several other Blatt songs are being used for both the radio and Showtime TV versions of NPR's "This American Life".
"As a solo instrumentalist, I have to let my guitar be my voice," Blatt says. "I try to create moods and express feelings by using alternate tunings, by careful attention to musical dynamics and intonation and by layering percussive sounds behind the main voice of the guitar. I'm always so excited when I get feedback from people who connect with the music. If someone tells me they listen over and over and that the songs put them in a tranquil place, there's nothing better than that."
