Jive Ass Sleepers is the music of Stuart Moore, a keyboard player/composer/producer based in Sacramento, California
He developed a love of funk, jazz and dance music during the 90s upon hearing Jamiroquai's debut album 'Emergency On Planet Earth.' This led to him exploring the roots of this style of music, discovering along the way Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayers, The Crusaders, Average White Band and many others. Growing up in the UK he also listened to a lot of dance music, especially House, where he became influenced by Basement Jaxx, Masters at Work and Daft Punk as well as the chilled out sounds of Zero 7 and Groove Armada
Stuart started writing music in 2001 and quickly developed his own funky, laidback sound. In 2003 he graduated from the university of Sheffield in England and was soon a professionally performing musician.
At the moment he is focusing on composing music for use in TV, film and all forms of media. He has a large collection of original music covering genres such as Funk, House, Jazz, Chill-Out, Latin and Orchestral. Recently his music has been used by the PBS show 'Wired Science', advertising and marketing companies 7th Art and The Concept Factory and the boutique Lot 8, owned by winner of Project Runway, Chloe Dao.
