[ABOUT
DEEP BLACK VOID is a dark power-pop rock band from southwest VA formed in late summer of 2008. Their current line-up has only been together for about two months, but the musicians that make up Deep Black Void are no strangers to music or the music industry. David Smith, lead vocalist and guitarist, has been producing, mixing, and writing music for several years now. As the leader of the group, David is a key part of the band from his hardworking, persistent attitude to his creativity; he helps Deep Black Void keep the identity that it carries today. Andrew Carter, guitarist and backing vocalist, and Shane Boles, bass, have been in several bands before joining with Deep Black Void in late September of 2008, and give the group a piece of their own creative / fun energy on stage and off. The newest addition to the band is drummer Brian Lytle, who has played in several bands; the latest being Old Business, who was signed to Splat! Records out of Nashville, TN. Brian was the balancing factor that Deep Black Void needed to continue the band’s journey
This band is determined to let the world hear what their hearts are screaming. From wearing all black clothes to eyeliner and painted nails, the band still promotes a message of hope to anyone that is willing to listen. Their rhythms are full of energy and a fan of any genre could come to their show and enjoy it. The lyrics to their current songs are mostly political at times, but they do not force their political opinions or religious beliefs upon anyone. They just hope to inspire change through their music.
[WHAT THEY’VE DONE
DEEP BLACK VOID is a band that promotes and books itself and the members are very dedicated and hardworking. The band has already accomplished so much. While they struggle with common band holdbacks, they keep pressing and overcoming hardships. They have managed to pack out four of the venues they have played in and they are supported and endorsed by Roar Clothing, Pop Icon, 208 Industries, Trick Drums, and Pork Pie Percussion. In January, they were a featured artist on Reverbnation.com and have been in the website’s top 300 rock bands several times. They are currently in talks with several venues about opening for a few major acts
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am sending you a demo with 3 songs and I have included the lyrics so you can get the feel of the band. The first song is brand new and they are still working on it. It will be finished soon. The promo pictures I have also attached of the band are a few months old and do not include Brian Lytle, so I have included some live pics. The band is currently in an updating process this month; trying to get into the studio to finish their first album and are about to take new promos. They have a total of 10 songs for their upcoming album and they plan to tour the album this spring and summer.
I hope and encourage you to take the time to listen to the band’s demo. They have all worked very hard to reach the point they are today. I look forward to hearing from you
