24 year-old singer songwriter Bess Beckmann started her musical journey at the tender age of 12. Writing and recording her first songs “Little White Lies” and “Another Heart To Break” at age 13 amassing over 200K plays on Myspace within two months. Captivating the attention of Tommy Byrnes, music director and guitarist for Billy Joel as wells as a NYC Management Co who signed her and procured a development/production and major publishing deal for the then 14 year old. Bess relocated from ATL to LA in junior high, immediately immersing herself into the Los Angeles music scene, networking and performing at local venues building her fan base.  At 17 she was invited to play her first showcase at SXSW she also opened for LA Guns at The Whiskey and headlined a sold out show at the famed House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. Over the last eight years she has performed at many established venues on both the West and East Coasts.


In 2009 at age 15 Bess wrote and recorded her Debut EP “Motorcycle” co-produced by Tommy Byrnes and recorded live at NRG Studios with world renowned musicians Kenny Aronoff (drums), Jeff Kazee (keys), the late Bob Birch (bass) and Tommy Byrnes (guitar).

Her second EP “The Real Thing” an eclectic mix of songs she wrote and also co-produced with Andrew Williams (Five For Fighting, Colbie Caillat, Jessica Simpson) in 2012 has earned her 20+ sync placements in both television and film.


Bess won Songwriter Universe’s best song contest twice for “The People The Places” and "It Only Takes A Minute" Her song "Better Off Without You" debuted on iHeartRadio at #10 staying on the charts for 20 weeks reaching #3 in the top 20 on demand charts. Her single “It Only Takes A Minute” the theme song she penned with David Schuler (Pink, Jon Legend) for The JAM School Global Campaign debuted both on The Today Show and Power 96.1 in ATL in September 2014. 


Bess’s unique tone, vocal range, songwriting, and passion for her art have earned her the support, respect and friendship of many top industry professionals. Those relationships flourished creating opportunities and collaborations with multi-award winning producers and songwriters who have worked with notable artists Aerosmith, Pink, Katy Perry, Adele, MatchBox 20, Billy Joel, Elton John, Usher, Colbie Caillat, Fiona Apple, Mary J Blige, Rick Ross, Rihanna, Icona Pop, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Kimbra and others.


Over the past few years Bess has been writing and collaborating with/for other established artists, writers and producers as well as focusing on developing her own style and genre. She's currently writing/recording her debut album that's slated for release late 2017.



Bess is a member of National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and  BMI. She has artist endorsements with Gibson Guitars, Sennheiser/Neumann and TC-Helicon.
