Portrait of Morning Shift
It all started December 2006. We lost our old drummer due to different influences in music. Shortly afterwards We got a clean start though. We got our new drummer Manny MonreaL. Manny at first was very shy and kept to himself. Then again who wouldn't be?..... coming into a band already in the making for one year especially with three brothers. A couple of practices later Manny was comfortable and there began the "music making." The process was so natural which was a change of pace for us since we were so used to working on music just us three. We began by making brand new music. Quickly we developed a unique and distinct sound like no other band in El Paso. From there on its been non-stop practice every week. During the summer of 2007 we did non-stop shows. We've played at venues such as Chics, Lucky Devils, Lonestar Lounge, Margaritas, House of Sin and Zeppelins to name a couple of places. Shows went fantastic, always had people telling us how unique we sound and how much of a different sound we bring to the music scene here in El Paso. Compliments ranging from "you guys sounded very raw and you rocked this place",to"you guys have a unique sound, you need to get out of El Paso and spread that music." This year 2008 we took a different route, we decided to focus on making more new music and of course RECORDING OUR 1ST DEMO. Lets just say being trapped in a studio out of town for one whole week with your brothers including our brother Manny and dont forget our roadie Chucky, was well worth it. Money was tight and food was scarce but in the end the demo came out GREAT!!! Now its time to move onto bigger things for us. We are now in the process of searching for a record label and booking some shows for the rest of this year.
