Mahogany Dust is a husband and wife Duo who begin their musical start on the underground scenes of Atlanta, GA in 2007. Their musical style is described as different, unique and original with poetry that is superb and singing that is soothing. Mahogany Dust decided to quit their day jobs as Microbiologists, to pursue their dreams of owning the world with their sound they call “Spoken-Soul”.
“DNA speaks poetry from a delicately balanced soapbox. Gi-Twice is part Erykah Badu, part Jill Scott, part India Arie, but completely original. Think of putting your favorite artists in a blender to make a soul smoothie, but it tastes like nothing you’ve ever had before!” –The Barbershop Digest
“MD Live at ArtSpace” is the live compilation CD of Mahogany Dust previously two self-produced ablums, (Livin’© 2007, Experience © 2008) and is releasing the fall of 2010. Mahogany Dust is also releasing their first DVD entitled “The Grind” which will showcase music videos as well as showcase the dedication and grind that Mahogany Dust continues to have as they take the world by storm.

DNA’s (Destroying Negative Attitudes) lyrical style is like a virtual paper cut: you don’t realize just how deep it is until you feel the sting later. Gi-Twice’s swingy leads, with jazzy hooks are so infectious, that it’s like static cling on your brain. ~Ayanna G. Assoicated Press

Mahogany Dust has been featured all over the nation and has even made a television apperance on BET- J Lyric Cafe'(Fall 2007) and MTV's Made (Feb. 08).
This duo has been married for nine years and they share a beautiful 6-year-old daughter, London.
The name Mahogany Dust is derived from the individual names of their guitars (Mahogany and Dusty).
Mahogany Dust is introducing a new positive sound to the music industry that encourages, uplifts and motivates the everyday person trying to make it through everyday life. Their sound is unique and appeals to older and younger generations alike. MD’s mission is to bring positive music back to industry, through a different avenue.
So just sit back and listen as this group brings the brand new sounds of spoken soul but at the same time gets music back where it use to be.
