Portrait of Jen Pumo
[Jen Pumo] layers imagistic lyrics over atmospheric soundscapes well worth exploring. Her performances are unfailingly compelling, even though she seldom raises her voice.
—Michael Roberts, Westword

Named 2008 Best Purveyor of Electro-pop by the Westword, Jen Pumo seamlessly draws from a constellation of influences including folk, idm, world and downtempo. Her music is centered on conveying moods and themes with penetrating, philosophical lyrics and cinemascopic, textural soundscapes. Twenty years at the piano and a strong desire to enchant and heal through music has provided her an axis to drive the force of her creations. Her recent critically lauded debut album, All Over The Moon, has been called intelligent and unfailingly compelling with a "depth of feeling that animates lyrics that are often as evocative as the sonic beds beneath them." Jen's many interests and passions stretch across a continuum of self-exploration, profound healing and the creation of community. She conveys her music and message with a strong core of talented musicians that vary in size and dynamics from show to show.
Inspired by the beauty, mystery and rich cultural tradition of Tibet and her people, and in order to voice our desire for TIbet's liberation, Jen and her All Over the Moon writing partner Graham Pearce composed "Silent Message." In a continuing supportive effort they have written "So Far" as part of a soundtrack for When the Dragon Swallowed the Sun, a documenatry on the younger generation in the Tibetan community in exile and their struggle to free their homeland. Directed by the talented and passionate filmmaker and educator, Dirk Simon, this film also features music from Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and Phillip Glass.

Currently, they are in the studio breathing life into their next album, exploring the byways of personal shamanic revelation and communal connection in an age of emerging global consciousness. Set to bloom in Fall 2010.
