At the beginning of the Maine metal scene, Absence of the Sun was there. The band quickly made an impression on all metal fans that heard them, standing out due to their young age and blistering melodic, catchy, and deathly metal riffs. Now 3 years later, after two musical departures and creative changes, the band sees itself standing as one of the few remaining bands from the early metal scene influencing a new generation of shredding metal bands.
The band has begun departing Maine in attempts to seek national recognition. Beginning with their second cross country tour in February of '08.
"Absence of the Sun will never forget where they came from. And they will continue to evolve their sound and widen their ears until they evolve into one of the fastest, melodic, catchy, and heaviest bands to invade your ear drums and leave you remembering who they are".
