Ready, Aim, Fire!
Over the past three years The Backyard Flames have been loyal to their cause... to cause as much noise as possible. And having performed in and around the capital(LONDON-UK) – as well as having been on the same bill as Babyshambles – their gigs are a joyous parade of kickin’ tracks and audience interaction which has made the future indie stars a much loved outfit on the scene.
To get a feel for their sound, it would have a tag that represents punk but naturally with modern intent and the greater good of indie rock, but the sound is theirs and theirs alone. Colin vocals and energy , Mark lead guitar and Red Stripe , Paul rhythm guitar and hair wax , Tone drums and even more energy and Steve bass and half time talks all have different musical tastes but that’s what makes it work when their bright ideas and forward thinking opinions get thrown into the arena they get nurtured, loved, punched, kicked and generally torn to pieces… then a fresh conclusion with a bloody nose will emerge and succeed. And to get the best experience from a ’Flames gig is to let them go wild in an intimate venue.
Getting the recognition their hard work deserves the London five piece performed a set at one of the legendary Astoria’s closing gigs, and now perform on the continent as well as continuing to play on home turf – including the Carling Academy Islington and The Underground – but they have marked their territory on merit and only consider doing stadium gigs for fun.

The Backyard Flames put the enthusiastic crowd into a sonic vortex of non apologetic loud indie beats, which often indulged into an everything but timid flirt with metal. It was well received by the young animated listeners.
