I'm a multi-instrumentalist composer and songwriter based in San Francisco. I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, studied jazz saxophone at the Univerisy of Miami in Florida, then moved to San Francisco in 2003.
My first major project as a songwriter and bandleader was Squaretape, a five-piece rock band I formed with guitarist Dan Nervo in 2003. We spent four years hitting the stage and the studio, and it was a blast.
In 2008, I turned my focus to a new musical project and set about writing an album's worth of material to feature singers Dan Apczynski (from Squaretape) and Lindsay Garfield (from Or, The Whale), as well as all of the instrumentalists I'd met and worked with in San Francisco over the past five years.
"The Exited Door" is that record. The product of a year's worth of writing, rehearsing, and recording, it features over twenty of the best players in the Bay Area (and beyond) on thirteen carefully crafted pop tunes. You can order the CD from CDBaby or download it from Digstation or iTunes.
Making the album wouldn't have been possible without all of the amazing musicians who contributed - they're all in my top friends below, so please check out their music and support them!
